Once again our excitement levels are high, this time due to the privilege of announcing the public release of Soocial’s beta! If you have signed up to our beta list in the last few months you should either already have an invite or you’ll be getting one over the next few days. Join us and see for yourself what Soocial is about!
Once again our excitement levels are high, this time due to the privilege of announcing the public release of Soocial’s beta!
Invites
We’ve been silently deploying the newest updates over the course of yesterday and today and will continue to be updating over the next few days. We’ll be releasing the Soocial beta gradually by way of invites, starting with our existing alpha users. After this we’ll be sending out waves of invites to visitors that signed up for the beta over the last few months. Once these users are all up and running using Soocial we’ll be distributing invites amongst the Soocial accounts. During the next few days we’ll be monitoring the performance closely for each batch of invites to make sure performance stays at acceptable levels.
New features
We’ve been working hard over the last year to make Soocial a service that simplifies contact management. We still have a long way to go but are pleased with our progress. Soocial consists of (1) a sync server that handles the synchronization with phones, and the upcoming OS X Client; (2) a web application, to manage your contacts and your Soocial account; (3) an open API, so third party applications can use data from within Soocial; (4) easy setup for phone, because it is otherwise rather cumbersome to setup your phone. Other minor things we’ve created are a Facebook application, support for more phones and we have excellent unicode support now. We’re planning to release an Soocial OS X client soon, it’s currently still in alpha but should be out before the end of the year. If you have specific feature you would like us to look into, post it on our forum or join us around our campfire
Want an invite?
If you can’t wait to get into Soocial and aren’t on our beta list, then pop into our campfire and let us know, we’ll see what we can do. If you did sign up for the beta you should be getting an invite early or later this week, depending on when you signed up. It’s exciting to have some real users start using Soocial, let us know how it works for you.
Looking forward to helping you make your contacts ‘hassle-free’.
