Crazy Rails hacker
You
You love making webapps, and making them work like they you think they should. You have a passion for doing things the right way, without getting stuck in religious straight jackets, i.e. a pragmatist when it comes to technology. You also like pleasing users, i.e. a practical (wo)man when it comes to design and usability choices. You love MVC and RSpec, thrive on seeing your screen filled with green passing tests. You know Rails inside out and you know how, why and what makes it tick. You read blogs and books featuring the likes of Ryan Diagle, Robby Russel, Rails Spikes and of course SVN, RailsCast, PeepCode and Getting Real. You often disagree with the likes of Joel Spolsky and Paul Graham but still leaves you inspired for wanting to know and learn more.
Us
We are a small startup focussing on creating the coolest contact management platform. We have some strange obsession with 80’s tv stars and use them to our advantage. We are known to make crazy movies and give kick-ass presentations. In short we are trying to take over the world. Soocial offers an awesome work opportunity for crazy developers who love working on hard problems and making simple easy to use products. We work using an agile two week cycle, where we scrum daily. All team members are on equal footing, with some elements of a meritocracy thrown in.
The job
You’ll be responsible for creating new sections of our contact webapp and maintaining existing code. This includes creating mockups and prototypes, right through to completion and deploying. Together with the rest of the team you decide what new features are most important to work on in the next release. We are looking for someone who loves to dig into a problem and find the best solution for the given task.
