Soocial is in dry-dock for a few hours

UPDATE: All system back online and working nicely now.

As you can tell Soocial is currently down during a few maintenance and performance upgrades. We hope to be back in the next few hours. This down time is needed to do a few upgrades to our infrastructure. We’ll be adding a number of different servers for our database, sync and webapp to improve the amount of traffic and users we can handle. This will improve the overal experience you have using Soocial.

We are currently:

1. Adding and moving to a dedicated sync server
2. Adding and moving to a dedicated database server
3. Adding and moving to a dedicated web app server
4. Moving to using EC2 for our sync bots (they talk with GMail and Highrise)
5. Using some new deploy recipes to be able to deploy even easier

   It would be good if you could make it so that you never have to take the system down like this for upgrades again.

   yes that would utterly utterly utterly rock. we are constantly improving our infrastructure to finally reach that nirvana state of uptime.

   we're not there quite yet but we're making good progress.
