You love creating stuff, making sites work nicely and smoothly. Have a passion for doing things the right way, without getting stuck in religious straight jackets, i.e. a pragmatist when it comes to technology.
You love floating DIV’s and making things work, and work nicely. You love webapps that work, are usable and you know what makes them tick. You love Prototype (or JQuery) and Script.aculo.us. You have affinity with Rails or similar framework.
You read blogs and books featuring the likes of Dan Cederholm, Jeremy Keith, John Resig, and sometimes (we all do) Peter Paul Koch’s tables. You know CSS, HTML and the DOM model like your favorite pub. You enjoy reading the occasional book by John Maeda or Paul Graham even though you disagree frequently.
Us
We are a small startup focussing on creating the coolest contact management platform. We have some strange obsession with 80’s tv stars and use them to our advantage. We are known to make crazy movies and give kick-ass presentations. In short we are trying to take over the world. Soocial offers an awesome work opportunity for crazy developers who love working on hard problems and making simple easy to use products.
The job
We envision your job as being a design oriented HTML/CSS and Javascript one that also adheres to the principles of usability. Design must be made, tweaked and implemented, re-tested and re-tweaked to be perfect for our users. However after saying all that the job is also quite unset, it is unknown exactly what needs be done. It will changes daily, and provide for quite some challenges that will make your work day anything from frustrating, fulfilling to far-out.
“The list”
- The usual: CSS, DOM, Prototype (or JQuery), Script.aculo.us
- Knows how to design interfaces (in Photoshop)
- Feeling for design in general
- Worked with Rails, Ruby or similar framework
- Loves working in a kick-ass team on a kick-ass project
- Likes to assume responsibility for all things Front-end relating to Soocial
